Social injustice!

Chris Trotter has weighed in to the Dalrymple debate. He lays the problem squarely at the doorstep of social inequality, that ignorant, immoral and criminal poor people are that way because they are poor and have no way out.

Writes he, "The social pathology and crime about which Mr Dalrymple writes so elegantly will never be eradicated till all of us, not just some, are allowed to become proper people."

Naturally, Trotter offers no solution, though I daresay he has a few in mind. Redistribution of wealth, up the workers!

And that's fine by me, if it means reducing tagging and general cruddiness on the mean streets of Kilbirnie. You know, I'd give up my mp3 player, my broadband connection, my camcorder, my various sound gear contraptions, hell, even my TV (sorry, the PC isn't negotiable) if it meant I could feel good about the society I live in.
