First up, just let me say that I would not be sad if the publishers, editors and journalists involved in publishing the terrorist leaks in Fairfax papers yesterday were all thrown in court for contempt of court. Part of this is pure personal prejudice.
My take on the frankly idiotic chatter that the police intercepted is that if this stuff is even vaguely accurate, these people are clowns who are probably lucky that they have been caught now rather than getting big holes shot in them later.
I also cannot say that I think that nothing should have been done here, but I still think this was very badly handled both in terms of being overly heavy-handed and of media management.
My position on the Terrorism Suppression Act remains unchanged: flush this noxious garbage down the toilet. It isn't needed to catch fools such as these.
The only quoted comment that I could even distantly identify with was a person saying something along the lines of "Just wait until people actually start getting shot, its going to be fucking horrible."
People who advocate the sort of bullshit that these idiots are quoted as saying are exactly the reason why I sometimes think the whole human race should just be folded up and put away. Bloodthirsty, sadistic morons getting off on armed power.
