The heat death of the universe

Here is a review of a show where Patti Smith and Alan Moore (among others) pay tribute to William S. Burroughs, courtesy of a friend I am very, very jealous of (because she was there).

That sounds nuts.

The Heat Death of the Universe is a short story by Pamela Zoline, which still rates as the best I've ever read, I think.

Apparently the book it's in is one of the most sought-after of all New Wave sf books, 'cause it's incredibly rare.

I didn't know that. I bought it in hardback for a dollar. Everthing I've read in it is fantastic. I've been rationing it across the years.

Good job. Relish that precious rareness!
