Last Night a DJ Saved My Life

To paraphrase Prince, my name is David, and I am funky.

I have muddling around in the whole server-side internet jiggery-pokery for a while now, not having found anything better. I'm currently working in the non-proverbial "mobile space", which is (at time of writing) New and Exciting. I live in Wellington, New Zealand.

I am not a "web designer". (Yeah, what he said). I can't design for crap. This annoys me no end. Instead I get crappy looking pages like this one. If I could do it all again, I'd go into design. Maybe.

In former lives, I have been a consultant -- excuse me, senior consultant -- for one of the big five four N consulting firms, and a web jockey at Trade NZ. Before that, I was a student at Victoria University, where I completed a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Theatre & Film and 'Science Subjects'.

When I'm not at work, I often do little web jobs for friends. Two of these are the websites for Salient, the magazine of Victoria University's Students Association, and that of Video Kid, one of the Bret McKenzie's many musical projects.

Anyways, enough of this nonsense. If you want to get hold of me, send me email to dritchie at paradise dot net dot nz. Yes, that's a slightly obsfucated email address, but I think we're all old enough to work out how to turn that into a real one, aren't we?

I like to maintain some semblance of being "down" with the "kids", so if you're going to email, you might want to consider encrypting the email. You should be able to download something useful from the PGP Home Page, but be warned the last time I tried to uninstall PGP from Windows XP it completely badgered the IP stack. I'm running GnuPG at home but, hey, whatever gets the job done. You'll need my public key either way.

I used to have a small number of links here, but they're not here anymore.
